TOP 10 MUST HAVE APPLICATIONS FOR YOUR JAVA PHONE

With these 10 apps, you can now make the best use of your java phones. You may not be needing the computer much if you have these 10 mobile apps on your device.

Without much ado, here they are, in my ranking order:

1. UC Browser

UC browser is the mobile version of Mozilla Firefox.
I particularly love UC browser because of it's enormous download speed and the features it possesses; such as copy and paste, tabs toggle, etc. You can make a call or send text messages when using uc browser without having to close the app. You can also pause your downloading file(s) and continue with them later, and the file will continue downloading from where it stopped or paused. You can save important pages to your device directory and view them at your own leisure.
With all these features, the number one spot is justifiable.
Go to m.ucweb.com on your device browser to download the version of uc browser compatible with your device.
Best alternative to UC Browser is Opera Mini.

2.Whatsapp

Whoever programmed this app must have studied economics!
Since I started using whatsapp, I call less and text less. This saves me a lot of money, as almost all my friends and family members use whatsapp. With data subscriptions, you won't even realize you are expending money whatsapping.
Whatsapp has similar features with the BBM app for Blackberry. With whatsapp, you can share image, audio and video files. You can also take part in group conversations.
Perhaps the only bad side of whatsapp is the fact that it does not support all devices. Only a few java-enabled devices are compatible with whatsapp. Perhaps again, future versions of whatsapp might be adapted to work on lower java phones.
To see whether whatsapp is compatible with your device, go to www.whatsapp.com on your web browser.
Best alternatives for whatsapp are Wechat and Viber.

3. Blue FTP

This file transfer protocol is the best of its kind. Multi-purpose in function, Blue can be used for extracting zip files compressing files, sending of applications and other files through bluetooth, renaming of file extensions (eg from .jad to .jar, .pdf to .txt, etc). Blue FTP is also optimized to read long and trunctated text files. Blue FTP has other wonderful features as well.
Download Blue FTP from www.downloadwap.com or www.sharemobile.ro.

4. Dictionary

With Dictionary on your mobile, you don't need to carry your dictionary to Pastor Chris Okotie's church. And the professors in your school can't intimidate you with their big grammar again.
Mobile dictionary is easier and faster to use, as all you have to do is type the word which you seek the meaning and the result will be displayed for you; as opposed to skimming through the pages of your dictionary to find a word.
Advanced English Dictionary (AED) is my recommendation for you. Download at www.download.com or www.waptrick.com

5. NIV Go Bible/Quran

Read and meditate on the Bible/Quran anywhere you are at any time you wish. Keep the word of God close by you all the time.
Best alternative is to always carry your Bible or Quran.

6. 2go

2go needs no advertising, except that it is a social networking app. Almost everyone who has a phone that can browse has 2go on their device. Newer versions of 2go have notifications enabler, which almost places 2go in the same league with Whatsapp and BBM.

If you are not registered on 2go and have no desire to do so, then you shouldn't really have 2go on your phone.
Mozat is the best alternative to 2go
Download and register at www.2go.co.za or www.2go.im

7. Facebook Mobile

Facebook Mobile is the mobile application created by Facebook Inc. You do not need a mobile browser anymore when you want to browse facebook with your phone. A must have app for facebook freaks.
Alternative: Nimbuzz

8. Foliant

Foliant is an ebook reader. However, it can only read text files. But it can open a large text file. Foliant has a very nice looking interface. You can add books from your device directory into the Library and read.
Alternatives to Foliant are Albite Reader and MtextReader.

9.Binu

A good app with numerous features. With Binu you can send free sms, read from a large database of online books, read latest news, sports updates, play games and engage in quizzes. These are among the many features of binu. Infact Binu is a Jack of all Trades ( which isn't bad at all, quite on the contrary).

10. TextEditor

I still can't expalin why I let this app occupy the tenth position, but again all the ones before it are equally important.
Text Editor is exactly what the name suggests, for editing texts. I use TextEditor to type my assignments when there is power outage. After typing, I save to a folder on my phone and when power eventually comes, I would connect my phone to my PC, open the saved file(in text format of course) on notepad or MS Office and then copy the whole text to a new page on MicroSoft Office, do the necessary formatings and then save the file as a Microsoft word document, which is my end point.
This saves me money and time.
